Targeting Emerging Leaders

A global leader in today's spine market and committed to advancing the treatment of spinal conditions wanted to conduct an evaluation of the spine fellowships offered throughout the United States to identify young, up-and-coming, fellows leaders.

Overview

Situation:

Emerging leaders present an opportunity for pharmaceutical and devices companies to build relationships and the next generation of scientific leaders. A global leader in medical technology wanted an objective assessment and analysis to identify emerging leaders with expertise in spinal surgery, research, and technology.

Description:

To identify and validate emerging leaders with the necessary skill sets we adopted a custom approach. One of the primary requirements of our client was to identify emerging surgeons who had completed fellowship training in spinal surgery from spine Centers of Excellence (CoE). As a first step actintel conducted evaluation of universities, renowned clinics, and spine institutes to narrow down to a list of 30 well-respected medical institutions offering spine fellowship programs across the United States.

Outcome:

The results of the “emerging leaders study” led to the creation of a robust 200+ emerging leaders database (450+ total) with structured and clearly organized content enabling quick analysis and decision making.

Using objective criteria, such as fellowship training, authors on publications, grants, recognition, and awards, etc. to evaluate an emerging leader’s influence, we were able to deliver an application to not only identify prominent surgeons but rising stars who received superior mentorships from well-established global/national spine surgeons.
